Driver line up complete for the Dubai 24hr as Umair Khan joins ZRT

In what has become a major coup in the driver line-up in the A2 Class, Zettanet Racing Team is pleased to announce that former three time consecutive UAE Touring Car Champion and 2013 Dubai 24H (A2 Class) winner Umair Khan has joined its driver line-up for the 2015 Dubai 24H after switching from former team Lap57 Racing Team

Umair’s addition to Zettanet Racing Team along with Team Owner, reigning UAE Touring Car Champion and 2013 ( D1 Class) Dubai 24H winner Jonathan Mullan, V8 Ute ace Gerard McLeod and UK-based rising GT star Graham Davidson rounds out one of the strongest driver line-ups in the A2 Class.

When asked about his preparations for the 2015 event and switch to Zettanet Racing Team, Umair had the following to say;

“The Dubai 24H is one of the races I look forward to most every year. This will be my sixth attack at the Dubai 24H and this year I’m more motivated than ever, the joy of working in a team environment is what keeps bringing me back. I’ve had some great memories with the guys at Lap57 and I’m looking forward to sharing some new ones with the guys at Zettanet Racing Team.”

Australian Team Principal Theo Souris offered the following welcome for Umair;

“After racing against Umair for several years (in the UAE Touring Car Championship), we’re really thrilled to have him come onboard for the event. His track record in Hondas at the Dubai Autodrome makes him arguably one of the strongest drivers in the A2 class.”

Speaking of the driver line-up for the event, Theo had the following to say;

“With the mix of local and international experience as well as raw speed across a wide range of machinery, we can comfortably say that we have one of the strongest driver line-ups in the event (let alone the A2 Class) ! Jonathan and Umair have some much knowledge of the Dubai Autodrome so they will share the load of the development driving and mentoring for Gerard and Graham and we have no doubts that we’ll hit the ground running come next January.”

The 2015 Dubai 24 Hour will be held on 09 January at the Dubai Autodrome with free entry to the paddock area throughout the event.
