It Differently Matters
An ATS LSD is the differential (Diff) chosen by the team under the recommendation of the teams technical consultant Jeff Owen of Special Projects. The particular type selected is the (D24) Reinforced with 24 metal discs set at 1.5 way to give some bite and stability even when the transmission is not under full load, or free wheeling in the middle of a turn. We learned from experience the K-20 Powered Hondas using the OEM Style or Torsen gear type LSD’s would still suffer from Horsepower induced under steer, whereas the plate type Limited Slip Differential will always give the necessary bite and enable the driver to accelerate and pull hard out of corners.
The diff will be getting a work out this coming weekend at the NGK 300 and then at the Dubai 24hr race in January.
